Use this dialog to add or edit links to external resources for the open client. These links are stored with the client's UltraTax CS data and can include files and folders on your local drive or network, or websites or resources on the internet, or documents printed to FileCabinet CS.
To open this dialog, choose Edit > Client External Documents > Add/Edit Links.
Fields & buttons
This list contains the existing links for the current client.
- To create a new link, click the empty row at the bottom of the list and enter the appropriate description, link type, and location in the fields provided. To navigate to a file on your a network or local drive or to specify a document in FileCabinet CS, click the browse button.
- To include Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word documents, and Adobe PDFs as attachments to your client's Web Client Organizer, mark the Web Organizer checkbox.
- To group links in categories, hold CTRL and click the links that you want to group together, then click the Group Selected button.
- To delete a link or a link group, select the item in the list and click the Delete Selected button. Deleting a link group will not delete the links within that group.
- To make the links available in next year's application when you proforma the client's data, mark the Proforma checkbox.
- To change the order in which the links are listed, click the up and down arrow buttons on the right side of the dialog.
To arrange several existing links into a category in the external links list, hold CTRL, click the links you want to group together, and then click the Group Selected button.
Select a link from the list and click this button to delete the link. To remove a link group, select the group name and click this button. Removing the link group does not delete the links within that group.
