Why is Form 1041, Page 1 blank?

Answer

For a grantor trust or agency relationship, the income taxable to the grantor(s) is not reported on Form 1041. It is reported on the Grantor / Agency Report along with credits, deductions, and other items attributable to the grantors. For a grantor trust, the grantor identification information prints in a statement and the applicable section 671-678 paragraph prints on Form 1041 for a grantor trust. For agency relationship returns, Form 1041 does not print.
