Question

How can I print the Personal Identification Number (PIN) forms and the filing instructions without entering all of the required information?

Answer

Ordinarily, UltraTax CS will not complete the PIN forms and filing instructions until all of the required PIN fields have been completed. However, you may want to print the return with the PIN forms and filing instructions to mail Form 8879, IRS e-file Signature Authorization to your client for him/her to complete and return to you, and then enter the remaining PIN information. To generate the PIN forms and the filing instructions, mark the Print electronic filing PIN signature forms field in Screen PIN.

If you mark this field, UltraTax CS will generate business rules if all fields do not have complete data. Therefore, you must enter all applicable PIN information before you transmit the electronic file.
