The IRS requires that you enter specific data in certain fields in Screen 1065 when you enter the foreign address for a partnership. Use the following guidelines to enter a foreign address.

  1. Enter the street address in the Address field.
  2. Enter the city in the City field.
  3. Leave the State and Zip code fields blank.
  4. Enter the foreign province or foreign state in the Foreign province or state field.
  5. Enter the foreign postal code in the Foreign postal code field.
  6. Select the foreign country using the Foreign country drop-down list on the left. UltraTax CS automatically completes the text field on the right for informational purposes only.

Note: The country code is required when filing electronically.

Note: If the partnership address is in Canada, you can enter the Canadian province in the State field and leave the Foreign province or state and Foreign country fields blank.

For more information about foreign partnership addresses, refer to IRS Publication 4163, Modernized e-File (MeF) Information for Authorized IRS e-file Providers for Business Returns.
