California allows taxpayers to claim a credit on Schedule P(540) for certain adoption expenses. Adoption credit information transfers to the Child Adoption field on Screen CACr-2 from the Eligible children information statement dialog on federal Screen 8839, in the federal Credits folder, when State Use code 4 is entered and the adoption is marked as final. Adjustments can be made on Screen CACr-2, in the Credits folder, as needed.
