New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

Indiana mandates that practitioners electronically file individual returns if they prepared at least 10 individual tax returns in the previous year. If the preparer firm is subject to the electronic filing mandate but the Indiana electronic file is suppressed, Form IN-OPT, Indiana Electronic Filing Opt-Out Declaration, prints with an original paper return.

If the preparer firm is not subject to the mandate, choose Setup > 1040 Individual > Indiana tab and mark the Firm is not subject to electronic filing mandate box in order to suppress Form IN-OPT for all paper-filed returns.

You may force or suppress the printing of Form IN-OPT via the Print/suppress Form IN-OPT field on the INELF screen when the return is paper-filed.
