If an Indiana return includes a form or schedule not included on this list, it does not necessarily preclude the return from being filed electronically even though the form is omitted from the electronic record. A diagnostic message displays or an e-file error generates for returns that cannot be filed electronically.

As a reminder, the following cannot be filed electronically:

  • Form IT-9, Extension
  • Form IT-40X, Amended Return
  • Form SC-40, Unified Tax Credit for the Elderly
  • Returns for tax years 2015 and prior
