1040-NC: Entering nonresident / part-year information

New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

The application automatically calculates part-year / nonresident amounts on the AGI Worksheet, located in Forms View under the AGI folder, based on the postal codes entered in the federal input screens. These amounts transfer to the D-400, Computation of North Carolina Taxable Income for Part-year Residents and Nonresidents, located in Forms View under the NCNRPY folder.

To alter the calculated amounts, use the PYNR screen, located under the Income & Adjustments folder within the NC input screens. This screen is only available for part-year / nonresident returns.
