You must file Form IT DA, Affidavit of Non-Ohio Residency/Domicile for Taxable Year if:

  1. The taxpayer filed an Ohio income tax return as a resident or part-year resident last year and this year they are filing an Ohio income tax return as a nonresident.

    OR

  2.  The taxpayer does not intend to file an Ohio return this year and they have an abode in Ohio, a contact period in Ohio, and/or nexus with Ohio to the extent that the tax commissioner would have reason to question them no filing a return.

To generate Form IT DA, choose File > Client Properties > Ohio tab, and check the box for Affidavit of Non-residency. You can complete the data entry for this form on the OHDA screen in the Affidavit General folder.
