Question

How do I get Line 4 of the Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction Worksheet (located in Forms View in the Wrk4 folder) to calculate for a minister not filing a Schedule C?

Answer

If the minister does not need to file Schedule C, access Screen Coverage (Health Care folder), and enter the SE health insurance expenses in the Self-Employment health insurance premiums statement dialog.

This amount carries to the Self-Employment Health Insurance Deduction Worksheet (located in Forms View in the Wrk4 folder). If the minister does not have a Schedule C, UltraTax CS does not calculate the amount on Line 4 of the worksheet. You will need to use the Self Employment Earnings Worksheet (located in Forms View under the SE folder) to determine the amount that should appear on Line 4. Then, override the Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction Worksheet, Line 4 in order to calculate a deduction, if any.
