New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

Access Screen Cr, located under the Credits folder. In the Provider information statement field, verify the SSN(s) and/or EIN(s) entered. Valid ranges for Social Security Numbers are listed below. Note that the EIN you entered for the provider may not be valid, and based on the ranges below, it may be classified as an SSN, rather than an EIN.

  • 001-01-0001 through 699-99-9999
  • 700-01-0001 through 733-99-9999
  • 750-01-0001 through 763-99-9999
  • 764-01-0001 through 899-99-9999

When an SSN contains zeros, the SSN is a test SSN, and therefore, not a valid SSN.

Note: If the entered EIN is formatted improperly as an SSN, delete the EIN and re-enter it and manually insert the dash '-' after the first two digits.
