UltraTax CS: Web Organizer - pink dot and/or pink folder appears but no data to accept

Pink Dot

If the pink dot appears on the Client Organizer (via Web) input screens, but there is no data to accept, the issue could be related to changing the state postal code. If the state postal code is changed on Screen 1040, after the Web Organizer has already been sent to the client's portal with the original postal code, the pink dot will continue to exist after accept retrieving the Web Organizer, representing the original data entry.

For example, consider the following scenario: Client ABC moves during the year. The Web Organizer is sent with the original state postal code = FL on Screen 1040. Before the Web Organizer is retrieved, the preparer updates Screen 1040 with the new state postal code = VA, then retrieves the Web Organizer. UltraTax CS will continue to display a pink dot, representing the FL data entry.

To eliminate the pink dot, change the  state postal code on Screen 1040 back to the original state (helpful hint: use the F8 function key to view prior year data). Accept the Web Organizer content related to FL, then change the state postal code back to the new state (VA).

Pink Lines in Folder

If a folder contains pink lines, but it appears that there's no data to accept, follow the instructions below to turn off the Asset tab. There may be depreciation information to accept within Summary Asset Data Entry.

  1. Within your client, choose File > Client Properties.

  2. Click Advanced Properties.

  3. Access the Enter Asset Detail tab.

  4. Unmark the Enter asset detail information checkbox and when prompted, click Yes to continue.

  5. Click OK twice to return to data entry.

  6. Locate the depreciation input screens under the folder containing the pink lines. Review Screens 8829, Auto, Sale, 8824, 4684B, and 4562 and verify data to accept. 

  7. Once data has been accepted, repeat Steps 1 through 3.

  8. Mark the Enter asset detail information checkbox and when prompted, click Yes to continue.

  9. Click OK twice to return to data entry.
