Use the Apportionment Information window to enter apportionment data in one place for all states. UltraTax CS uses this information to complete the apportionment factor for income subject to apportionment. In general, business income is apportioned and non-business income is allocated. State law determines the type of income that is apportioned.
To open the Apportionment Information window, choose View > Apportionment with an 1120 return open.
Note: You need to have a state return attached to this return to open the Apportionment Information window.

Notes
- To enter apportionment data for consolidated or combined states, see Entering apportionment information for consolidated or combined states.
- If necessary, you can override the amount in the Everywhere / (Override) column for all states or on a state-by-state basis.
- Some fields in the Apportionment spreadsheet and state tabs have statement dialogs in which to enter detailed information for a factor component. UltraTax CS uses the information you enter in the Everywhere column in the statement dialog as the everywhere amount for that component. UltraTax CS ignores the amount in the Everywhere / (Override) column in the Apportionment spreadsheet for that component.
- Detail asset data entry allows you to classify assets for the property factor and automatically transfers the year-end amounts to the corresponding fields in the Property tab.
- The Excel Export / Import utility allows you to quickly and efficiently import and export apportionment information to and from UltraTax/1120 and a Microsoft Excel Workbook. For further information, see Excel Export / Import utility for apportionment information overview.
- You can import data from an Excel spreadsheet or the Windows Clipboard into a statement dialog.
