New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

UltraTax CS uses blue chevrons on an input screen field to indicate that the field had information in the prior year, but has no data entered for the current-year return. Show me.

To remove the blue marker, enter data in the field as applicable. If you want UltraTax CS to enter the prior-year amount in a field, right-click the field and choose Prior year: <prior year data> > Paste prior year data from the context menu.

If you do not intend to add current year data for fields with missing data indicators, there are several ways to remove the missing data indicators and the missing data diagnostic messages.

  • Right-click the input screen field and choose Prior Year: [prior year value] > Acknowledge missing data from the context menu.
  • Right-click the input screen field and choose Prior Year: [prior year value] > Acknowledge all missing on screen to remove the indicators from all fields with missing data on the current input screen.
  • Right-click any diagnostic message in the To Do tab of the Diagnostics window that contains the name of an input screen field, and then choose Acknowledge missing data from the context menu to remove the indicators from that field.
