New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

Use the city and other returns tabs at the bottom of the MTA, NYC dialog to enter city and other return apportionment information. City and other return columns only appear if you have added cities and other returns to the return and additional apportionment information is required.

To enter city and other returns apportionment information, click the New York tab at the bottom of the Apportionment Information window; click the MTA, NYC button; and then click the New York City tab.

Special information for processing New York City returns

UltraTax CS provides predefined statement dialogs for factor components requiring detail information. UltraTax CS uses the information you enter in the statement dialogs in the Everywhere column on the form for that component. UltraTax CS ignores amounts from the Everywhere / (Override) column for that component.

Fields & buttons

General information group box

UltraTax CS uses the information you enter in this group box to complete form fields and answer questions that are not addressed in the Apportionment spreadsheet.

100% in New York City

Mark this checkbox to enter 100% business allocation percentage on the NYC return when 100% of New York's property, payroll, and sales are located in the city.

Discretionary adjustments

Enter the amount of the adjustment that has been approved by the commissioner.

Alternate apportionment group box

Use the fields in this group box to use alternate apportionment for this city. The information you enter in these fields takes precedence over any entries in the Apportionment Information spreadsheet for this city.

Aviation/Operating Vessel Corporations button

Click this button to open a dialog to enter aviation / operating vessel information for this city. The information you enter in this dialog takes precedence over any entries in the Apportionment spreadsheet for this state.

Click this button to open a dialog to enter Section 11.654.2(5) information.

Click this button to open a dialog to enter Section 11.654.2(6) / Section 11.654.2(7) / Section 11.654.2(8) / 11.654.2(9) / Section 11.654.2(12) information for this state.

Click this button to open a dialog to enter New York City ENI allocation information for banking corporations required to file Form NYC-1.

Taxable Assets Allocation button

Click this button to open a dialog to enter New York City taxable assets allocation information for banking corporations required to file Form NYC-1.
