Use this procedure to remove companies from an existing consolidated return. The parent company should not be removed from the consolidated return. Instead, you should delete the consolidated return and then create a new consolidated return. Also, do not rename the parent company with a new client ID once you select the company as the parent of a consolidated return.

  1. Choose File > Client Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced Properties button.
  3. Click the Group tab.
  4. To remove the eliminations company from the consolidated return, highlight the company name in the Group members list and click the Remove button.
  5. To remove a subsidiary company from the consolidated return, highlight the company name in the Group members list and click the Remove button.
  6. Click OK to close the Advanced Properties dialog.
  7. Click OK again to close the Client Properties dialog. You should receive a message indicating that the consolidated return will reinitialize and recalculate the return without that member of the consolidated group.
