Question

Partner's net SE income/loss fields located in the Taxpayer and Spouse Self-employment section are not reported as next year's Schedule E income/loss. Why?

Answer

Only enter the projected amount of the partner's income or loss that is subject to the self-employment tax. The application combines this information with the other fields in this section to calculate the projected 2023 self-employment tax. Enter any projected changes to overall Schedule E income for 2023 in the Sch E income/loss field in the General Information & AGI Items section of this screen.
