Question

What is the Taxable IRA Distributions with IRA Contributions worksheet used for?

Answer

If a taxpayer has basis in a traditional IRA, is making a current-year contribution to a traditional IRA which requires the calculation of modified AGI, and has a current-year distribution or conversion from a traditional IRA, then UltraTax CS uses the Taxable IRA Distributions with IRA Contributions Worksheet from IRS Publication 590-A to determine the portion of the distribution attributable to nondeductible contributions, deductible contributions, and amounts converted to a Roth IRA.
