Question

A client has moved to another state that is served by a different IRS service center. I have changed the mailing address in Screen 1040 but the IRS service center shown on client documents does not reflect the IRS service center applicable to the new address. How do I correct this situation?

Answer

In the event of an address change that would cause the IRS service center to be different, first open Screen Letter and delete the screen data by choosing Edit > Delete Screen Data. Open Screen 1040 and re-enter the state postal code. This causes Screen Letter to update with the new IRS service center.
