Question

Why is my Keogh, SEP, SIMPLE, or other qualified plan deduction not calculating?

Answer

Self-employed retirement plan deductions are calculated based on net self-employment earnings from the specified single activity under which the plan was established. Check to make sure you have the folder selected to which the plan relates. Screen Keogh can be found in all of the following folders.

Folder Related activity
Business Schedule C
Farm Schedule F
K1 1065, 1120S Partnership Income
Retirement Miscellaneous income - self-employment income (Screen Income) or contract and straddle income (Screen 6781)
Note: If the deduction does not appear in the Self-employed SEP, SIMPLE, and qualified plans field on Form 1040, review the Keogh/SEP/SIMPLE Worksheet by pressing CTRL+F in Screen Keogh.
