The IRS issued guidance on how to mail a paper check for a balance due on an electronically filed Form 1040-X. If the balance due is not paid or is only partially paid via Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW), Form 1040-V should be included with the paper check to be mailed to the IRS for the Form 1040-X balance due.
