Specifying the location of scanned data

The Bar Code Scan Utility has been discontinued starting with UltraTax CS 2023.

By default, scanned data will be stored in the same folder where UltraTax CS Bar Code Scan is installed. To specify a different storage location for scanned data, follow these steps:

  1. Chose Setup > File Location to open the File Location dialog.
  2. Either enter the appropriate path in the field provided, or click the Browse button and navigate to the desired location.

    Note: If you are running UltraTax CS through Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), you can navigate to files on your local network.

  3. Click OK to close the File Location dialog.

Note: If you specify a location other than the default, you also need to specify the path in UltraTax CS. To do so, choose Setup > User Preferences, click the File Locations tab, click the UltraTax CS Bar Code Scan data option, and then click the Modify Location button.
