View the XML e-file

Show expandable text

If you want to see what's included in the e-file for a return, you need to view the XML file. The IRS requires that e-file information be formatted in an XML.

  1. Select Utilities, then Electronic Filing Status.
  2. Find the client in the list. If the client isn't listed, an e-file has never been created for the client.
  3. Click the View View button.
  4. To find a specific form, line, or amount, press CTRL+F on your keyboard and search.
