Message received - The UserID/PIN Combination Entered is Invalid or not a Filing Signer type

At the request of the Department of Labor (DOL), Thomson Reuters checks for invalid signagures before sending the 5500 e-file to the DOL for processing. If the signer sees a window that says "The User ID/PIN Combination Entered is Invalid", the signer should complete the following steps.

  1. Go to efast.dol.gov/welcome.html.
  2. Click Login on the left.
  3. Enter the User ID and password. The User ID is the same as the ID used for signing. The password is not the same as the PIN used for signing the return. If you (the signer) forgot your password or never created one, click Forgot Password and follow the prompts to reset it. Resetting the password will not change the PIN.
  4. Once you're logged in, go to the User Profile and mark the Filing Signer box under the User Type.
