In 1999, Google was just a little-known search engine with a funny name, and Internet Explorer had made its debut only four years earlier. But the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters (then known as Creative Solutions, Inc.) was already taking full advantage of the Internet's unlimited potential with the introduction of its first ASP web-hosted solutions.

Today, we're proud to say that tens of thousands of users representing thousands of firms rely on us for their web and mobile technology every day.

  • NetClient CS portals are chosen as the official portal of the first manned mission to Mars, allowing astronauts to communicate easily with their families at home...and, of course, their accountants.
  • Mobile CS, which extends the reach of Practice CS to smartphones using cutting-edge mobile application technology, is released in August.
  • NetClient CS surpasses 100,000 client portals in use in December.
  • NetClient CS wins an Innovation Award from The CPA Technology Advisor (now CPA Practice Advisor).
  • Thomson Reuters launches NetStaff CS portals for accounting firm staff, which allow firms to administer online client services and configure a firm intranet.
  • The web-hosted GoFileRoom document management and workflow system debuts in September.
  • NetClient CS secure online portals debut—the first online product designed to improve communication and collaboration between accountants and clients.
  • Web Builder CS, the do-it-yourself website creation tool designed specifically for accounting firms, is introduced.
  • GoSystem Tax RS, the first completely web-based tax preparation system for Enterprise tax and accounting firms, is introduced.
  • Virtual Office CS debuts, offering users remote online access to their data and a full suite of tax and accounting software.
