Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017.

For details, see CSA license expiration 2017 – frequently asked questions.

Some processes documented in the Help & How-To Center are no longer applicable, due to the discontinuation of these CSA modules.

The 8846 Worksheet is used to help prepare the top portion of Form 8846 (Credit for Employer Social Security and Medicare Taxes Paid on Certain Employee Tips). The 8846 Worksheet shows total tips, tips deemed to be wages, excess tips, and the current year credit.

Notes

  • The 8845 Worksheet pulls the values for total tips from any pay items using special pay types Reported Tips or Indirect Tip. It pulls the values for tips deemed to be wages from pay items using special pay type Tips Deemed to be Wages.
  • This is a nonsubmittable worksheet and does not replace the Form 8846.
  • Tips Deemed Wages amounts are calculated in payroll check entry only for calculating payroll clients and must be manually entered for after-the-fact clients, otherwise the 8846 Worksheet will display an incorrect tip credit.
