Before printing payroll checks, you need to specify the check starting number, check date, and period beginning and ending dates. You may also choose to have the program automatically increment the date fields after printing the checks.
This dialog appears when you choose to print payroll checks from the Print Checks dialog.

Fields & buttons
Enter the beginning check number you want to use for this check printing.
Enter the date you want to appear on these checks.
Note: By default, the current date is automatically entered in this field.
Enter the last day of the pay period represented by these checks.

Enter the first day of the pay period represented by these checks.
When the Increment dates checkbox is marked, after check printing the program will automatically advance the period beginning, period ending, and check dates. If you mark this checkbox, also choose one of the following options:
- Use default frequency. The program will increment the dates based on the default frequency indicated on the Calculating Payroll tab of the Client Properties dialog (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.).
- Number of days. The program will increment the dates by the number of days specified here.
When the Increment dates checkbox is not marked:
- If detailed payroll periods are not enabled, the Check date and Period ending date fields will default to the system date.
- If detailed payroll periods are enabled, the Check date, Period ending date, and Period beginning date fields will default to the current detailed payroll period dates.
The options in the Blank MICR checks groupbox are available only if the Blank MICR checks checkbox is marked on the Print Checks dialog for the current printing job.
How many checks?
Enter the number of blank MICR checks you want to print.
Update next check number
Mark this checkbox if you want to update the next check number after the blank MICR checks have been printed.
