The staff in charge of the engagement has the ability to view engagement-specific information on the General tab, and modify select fields that are related to description, engagement dates, and signoffs directly on the General tab.
Choose File > Engagement Properties to open the General tab of the Engagement dialog.
A staff member who is accessing the Local Client Data (LCD) can update only signoff information. In addition, those working in the field can only view tabs in the Engagement Properties dialog. (Depending on the privileges that are assigned to the staff members, some tabs may not be available even for viewing.)
Note: The information that appears on this tab was entered in the New Engagement wizard during the setup of the engagement.

Engagement Dates
The following information is set up when you create an engagement for the first time on the New Engagement - Properties page of the Create Workpaper wizard:
- Begin Date. This field is defined as the date when the engagement process started. You can click the calendar button to right of the date field to select another date.
- End Date. This field is defined as the date when the engagement process ended. You can click the calendar button to right of the date field to select another date.
Audit Documentation Dates
The following options enable you to indicate whether the engagement is a public or a non-public audit and to enter a report release date. That information is then used to display a reminder when the 45- or 60-day documentation completion date deadline is approaching and the engagement must be wrapped up.
- Audit engagement. Mark this checkbox to indicate that the engagement is an audit engagement.
- Public entity. Mark this checkbox to indicate if the engagement is an audit engagement for a public entity (This checkbox is only available when the Audit engagement checkbox is marked). Leave this checkbox unmarked if the engagement is for a nonpublic entity.
- Report Release Date. Enter the date that permission was granted to the client to use the auditor's report in connection with the financial statements.
Signoffs
The program sets up the following information when you create a new engagement for the first time in the New Engagement - Staff Assignment page of the New Engagement wizard:
Note: You cannot remove another staff member's signoff.
Opens the Signoff dialog where you can select the signoff type from the drop-down list to insert in the Signoffs grid of the Workpaper Properties dialog.
Notes
- The signoff type(s) are initially assigned to staff member(s) of the current engagement by the staff in charge on the Staff Assignment page of the New Engagement wizard.
- The Signoff Types can be modified and overwritten by the staff in charge on Staff Assignments tab of the File > Engagement Properties dialog.
- Only those sign off types that have not been previously selected for the current workpaper are available from the drop-down list in the Type field.
- If all five sign off types have been used in the Workpaper Properties dialog for the current engagement the Add button is made unavailable (grayed).
Allows a staff member who has the group privilege to modify the signoff that is selected in the signoff grid (signoff date, time, or type).
Note: You can only edit or remove your own signoff.
Highlight the signoff that you want to remove in the Signoff grid of the Workpaper Properties dialog by clicking the row number, click the Remove button to remove the signoff, and then click Yes when prompted.
Note: You can only edit or remove your own signoff.
