Document permissions example - Allow Access option

Show expandable text

Scenario: Firm administrative staff members require permission to read, add, and edit documents in the CLIENTS drawer for the “Firm Client” only.

  1. In the Groups field, select the group to which document security settings will apply.

For this example, a special group (CLIENTS [RAE] 99999 ONLY) has been set up so that users assigned to this group will have access to only documents (read, add, and edit privileges) in the Clients drawer for Client 99999.

  2. Select the appropriate FileRoom from the Filerooms field.
  3. Select the Clients drawer.
  4. Click the Allow Access option.

Note: Configuring document security to allow access for certain values (such as Client Number) will allow access (read, add, and/or edit) to applicable documents while preventing access to all other documents in the drawer.

  5. Select the Client Number index.
  6. In the field, enter 99999.
  7. Click the Add button to add the value to the lower right pane.
  8. Repeat the previous three steps for each index you want to add.
  9. When you are done adding indexes, click the Save button.
