Add / Remove States dialog

Use the Add / Remove States dialog to either add or remove states in the open tax plan.

To open this dialog, choose Edit > Add/Remove States.

Notes:

  • If Add/Remove States is unavailable, install state modules.
  • A plan cannot contain more than one resident state, but can contain an unlimited number of nonresident states.

When you remove a state module from a tax plan, you lose all information entered at the state level for that particular state. For this reason, you may want to back up the plan before removing a state. See Backing up data for more information.

Fields & buttons

Select a resident state from the drop-down list. To delete the resident state, highlight the state in this field and press DELETE.

Note: Planner CS allows each plan to have one state designated as a resident state.

Mark the checkbox next to any nonresident state you want to add. To delete a nonresident state, clear the checkbox next to that state.
