Canceling your services

Your firm's Licensee or Delegate can cancel your services by following these steps:

  1. Browse to the online cancellation form on our website.
  2. Enter your firm's information in the Customer Information section.
  3. In the Account Number field, enter your firm ID. If you don't know it, you can look it up.
  4. In the Brand field, select CS Professional.
  5. Type the names of each product or service to cancel in the Product(s) to be Canceled field.
  6. If you have a recent invoice number for the product or service, enter the number into the Invoice Number field.
  7. In the Requested Cancellation Date field, choose today or a future day.
  8. Complete the Reason for Cancellation field and then click Submit.
  9. Wait for a Customer Support Representative to contact you to let you know what the next steps are.

Support contract

You cannot cancel a support contract until you've met the 12-month commitment period. After the end of the month your contract is canceled, you'll be charged for each time you contact Support.

If you are canceling a support contract for a product in the Accounting CS family or Practice CS family, the support contract will be canceled for all products you own within that product family.

GoFileRoom

GoFileRoom must be canceled at least 90 days prior to your contract renewal date. After that, the service will automatically renew for one more year. Contact Customer Support to find out when you can cancel your GoFileRoom.

Special notes for Web Services

Web services refers to the hosted online software solutions that includes NetClient CS, Virtual Office CS, Software as a Service, and Web Builder CS.

NetClient CS

If you own Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service and you are only canceling your client portals, we do not need a cancellation form. Your NetStaff CS administrator will need to delete the NetClient CS portals.

If you own only NetClient CS, an Administrator must create Thomson Reuters IDs for all staff who need to log into your software. Then, you'll need to update your software licenses.

Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS)

You cannot cancel Software as a Service until you've met the 12-month commitment period. Virtual Office CS can be canceled at any time.

We recommend that you back up all of your data before submitting your cancellation request. After we've processed your cancellation, your data will no longer be available to you.

If you are canceling SaaS to move to a Federal PRP license, make sure you back up all of your PRP codes using the steps in the UltraTax CS with PRP licensing: Moving from SaaS to a local or a network installation article.

Web Builder CS (including email)

If you are hosting your website domain with Thomson Reuters, your Web Builder CS Administrator will receive an email with domain transfer instructions after the cancellation is processed. If you are not transferring the domain, no further action is needed.

If you use Web Builder CS email hosting, you will need to back up your email data before submitting your cancellation request.
