For users who run Accounting CS in the Virtual Office CS or SaaS environment

Setting up data location profiles

  1. Choose Setup > Firm Information > Data Location Profiles.
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. Enter a unique description for the data location profile that you can easily identify, such as <client name> Data. For example, "[Client name] Data"

    Note: You can change the data location profile descriptions at any time, but you cannot delete the profile.

  4. Click Enter to save your changes.

Assigning data location profiles to client staff

  1. Choose Firm Information > Client Staff.
  2. Select the appropriate client staff member and click Edit.
  3. In the NetClient CS Access section of the Main tab, select the data location profile from the drop-down list in the Profile field. Show me.

    Note: To see which client staff members are associated with a particular data location profile, click the Ellipsis Ellipsis button button next to the Profile field. (You may need to click Enter to save your selection before the ellipsis button will be available.)

  4. Click Enter to save your changes.

Notes

  • Each client staff can be assigned to only one data location profile.
  • Multiple client staff members can be assigned to the same data location profile, enabling them to share the client data. To see which data location profile a client staff member is assigned to, choose Setup > Firm Information > Data Location Profiles.
  • If a data location profile description exactly matches the NetClient CS account name for a client staff record that already exists in Accounting CS, the application automatically assigns that data location profile to the client staff member.
