For users who run Accounting CS in the Virtual Office CS or SaaS environment

As part of the process for setting up a client to use Accounting CS Client Access, you need to manage client portals from Accounting CS (rather than from NetFirm CS). One of the required setup steps is to label the data location profiles that identify where on the servers the client user data resides.

Each data location profile is associated with a unique server location that you can assign to one or more NetClient CS portals. this enables each client staff member to have their own data location. However, you can assign that data location profile to multiple client staff members, allowing them access to each other's data.

Following are examples of the types of data stored in the data location profile (outside of the Accounting CS database).

  • FileCabinet CS documents
  • Microsoft Office files (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Files created by Accounting CS (such as direct deposit ACH files, EFTPS files, and Internet/Magnetic files)

Choose Setup > Firm > Data Location Profile.
