Our Support department is closed on Friday, April 28th for a company event. However, limited Accounting CS phone support is available on that date from 9 AM - 5 PM ET due to the approaching deadline for quarterly payroll tax forms.

Accounting CS allows you to automatically populate part 5 of the 941 with your client's taxpayer name, title, phone number and signature. Use the following steps to enter this information for your client.

Adding taxpayer information to your client

  1. Choose Setup > Clients.
  2. Select your client and click Edit.
  3. From the Main tab, click the Ellipsis ellipsis  button next to Additional Contacts.
  4. In the Contact section, enter the name of the contact person and, optionally, a title, company, and a salutation.
  5. Mark the Payroll form signer checkbox. That contact will then be available for selection in the Taxpayer Signature field in the Payroll tax forms additional information dialog.
  6. Click the Enter button to save the contact information.

Adding a signature and signer to your client’s 941 form.

  1. Click the Payroll Taxes tab and, in the Forms section.
  2. Click the Additional Information button associated with the Federal 94x.
  3. Select appropriate information to populate the 94x signature area.

Signature Area

Select a taxpayer from the drop-down list, if appropriate. The name, phone number, and other pertinent information entered for the selected contact will be used to complete the form(s). To omit the taxpayer signature date from the form, mark the Suppress date checkbox.

The names available in the Taxpayer drop-down list are:

This area displays the taxpayer signature image that will appear in the Taxpayer signature area on the form. Click the Ellipsis button to open the Insert Image - Signature dialog, where you can browse to and insert a signature image into the database, or remove a signature image that you have already inserted.

Select a preparer from the drop-down list, if appropriate. The name, phone number, and other pertinent information entered for the selected staff member will be used to complete the form(s). To omit the preparer signature date from the form, mark the Suppress date checkbox.

  1. Click the OK button to save 94x Additional Information.
  2. Click Enter to save changes to the client information.
