After you finish designing or modifying a layout in the Layout Designer, you can define page setup options, print a sample of the form, and preview a sample of the form.

Specifying page size and layout options

You can specify the paper size for the selected layout and also specify the size for the layout and the number of recipients for each page.

  1. Choose File > Page Setup.
  2. In the Paper tab, select Letter or Legal for standard-sized paper. To enter specific dimensions, select Custom and then specify the width and height.
  3. Click the Layout tab. Choose Same as paper size to use the dimensions specified in the Paper tab, or choose Custom to enter other dimensions.
  4. If available, you can specify the number of recipients to include on each page.
  5. For AR customer invoices and statements, choose the AR aging basis (due date or invoice date) and the AR period interval (days, weeks, or months) and number of units in each period.
  6. Click OK to save these paper and layout settings.

Printing or previewing a sample layout

While processing data for your clients, you can print the checks and forms from the various processing screens and dialogs. However, if you want to see how a check or form will look when it's printed, you can print or preview a sample from the Layout Designer.

  1. Choose File > Print Sample or File > Preview Sample.

The Print Sample Print sample button and Preview Sample Preview sample button buttons are available on the Layout Designer toolbar.

  2. If there are any repeating regions in the layout, the Print\Preview Sample Options dialog opens. Specify the number of rows of detail to display in the repeating region, and then click OK. If there are no repeating regions on the layout, you will not see this dialog.
  3. In the Print dialog, specify the output devices (printer, file, FileCabinet CS, etc.) to send the sample layout to be printed, and then click OK.
