ACH / EFT payment information

The West Virginia State Tax Department accepts EFT-Credit and EFT-Debit payments of withholding taxes.

• Employers who paid $25,000.00 or more during the previous year are required to pay via EFT.
• Employers paying less than that mandatory threshold can pay via EFT voluntarily.

How to apply

The West Virginia State Tax Department requires all EFT users to apply for approval before submitting tax payments.

For more information about making EFT payments and to obtain an ACH credit authorization form, please visit the West Virginia State Tax Department website and navigate to the Electronic Services > Electronic Funds Transfer page.

Payment and other information

Tax returns are still required on the regular due date for the particular tax period being paid, even if you are paying via EFT. Returns must clearly be marked ACH in the upper-left corner. For the Tax Department to match your return to your payment, you must send all ACH returns to the following address:
