Use the Standard Account Mappings screen to set up firm account grouping and tax code combinations that will make the process of setting up a Chart of Accounts for a new client faster and easier. When you select a specific classification code and subcode for a new account in the Chart of Accounts screen, the application automatically assigns the tax code and other grouping information specified in this screen.

Any information that you enter or change in this screen applies only to clients added after you save this information. The changes will not affect existing clients.

Choose Setup > Firm Information > Standard Account Mappings.

Notes

  • The Add and Delete buttons are unavailable (grayed out) in this screen. To add or delete codes and subcodes from the Account Classification account grouping you must use the Setup > Firm Information > Firm Account Groupings screen.
  • If you are setting up a segmented Chart of Accounts and you are adding a new account for which the core account already exists, the application will use the assignments from the core account rather than the standard account mapping.
  • Use the Setup > Firm Information > Firm Tax Codes screen to add new custom tax codes, or add them on the fly from the Chart of Accounts screen.
