You can enter adjusting journal entries in the Adjusting Journal Entries window of the Trial Balance module directly in the Engagement CS workspace.
Choose Tasks > Journal Entries to open the Adjusting Journal Entries window in the Document View pane of the Engagement CS workspace.
-or-
Choose Engagement > Journal Entries from the Add-in menu within Engagement CS when Excel is open within the application.
Special information
The following group privileges in Engagement CS are related to the journal entry features.
- Add Potential Journal Entries. Staff members assigned this privilege have the ability to enter potential journal entries only. No other types of journal entries are available when this journal entry privilege is the only one selected.
- Add All Journal Entries. Staff members assigned this privilege have the ability to enter all journal entry types, including Potential Journal Entries. See Setting up group and staff privileges for users of Engagement CS.
We recommend that you select only the Add Potential Journal Entries option for staff members who are not assigned the Trial Balance in the current engagement. This enables the staff member who has the privilege to add all journal entries to run CSA reports that reveal any new journal entries added by other staff members on the engagement team.
