A number of sample financial statements have been included within CSA. Before creating a new statement from scratch, you should first view some of the sample statements to get an idea of what a completed statement looks like. Feel free to modify these pre-formatted statements to suit your own needs.

The same sample statements exist for each sample client and in the global statement folder. In other words, you may open and view global statements from any open client. However, if you want to open the sample client statements, you must have the sample client open in the Financial Statement Editor.

Procedure

  1. From the CSA main window, choose Setup > Financial Statements.
  2. From the Financial Statement Editor, choose File > Open and then choose either client statement or global statement.
  3. In the Open Statement dialog, highlight the desired statement and click Open.
  4. When the statement opens, click in the various cells, rows, and columns to see the different properties displayed in the Properties box on the left side of the screen. Note that most of what appears on the screen is text that represents what will actually appear on the statement. For example, 9,999,999.99 amounts act as placeholders to tell you that the cells will contain amounts in the actual statement. Similarly, where you see Account Description, that text will be replaced with the actual account name as defined in the Chart of Accounts.
  5. To preview the statement as it will appear when printed, choose File > Print Preview.

Note: If you do not currently have one of the sample clients open in the Financial Statement Editor, or have not set up account groups for the current client, no amounts will appear on the statement.

  6. To print the statement, click the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window.

Note: You can also print statements from the CSA main window by choosing File > Print Reports. Select Financial Reports from the list pane in the Documents tab. Click the Options button to open the Financial Statement Print Options dialog, and then select the financial statement(s) that you want to print. For more details, see Printing a statement.
