Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

Review notes can be added to a workpaper, folder, and engagement in Engagement CS. Reviewed status is not required. Review notes can also be edited or removed at a later date, and all notes must be cleared before wrapping up an engagement.

Highlight the workpaper, folder or engagement that you wish to add a review note to and choose Edit > New or Edit Review Note to open the Review Note dialog. You can also highlight the workpaper in the Tree View and select the New notes /_images/acct_pr/csa/btn-reviewnote.gif button on the Engagement CS toolbar to add a review note.

  • For a client with the Multi-Staff option enabled, you can add, edit, or delete review notes for a workpaper while it is currently open - regardless of whether it was opened by you or by another staff member.
  • Responding to a note. The staff member who is assigned to the workpaper may respond to the note. The staff member working in the Master Client Data (MCD) may respond to a note if it is attached to a workpaper that is checked in to the MCD.
  • Marking notes as reviewed. The staff member who is the originator of the note may mark the note as reviewed. The staff member working in the Master Client Data (MCD) may mark the note as reviewed if it is attached to a workpaper that is checked in to the MCD.
  • Marking a note as cleared, or deleting a note. The originator of a review note can take these actions if assigned the workpaper to which the note is attached. The staff member working in the Master Client Data (MCD) can take these actions if the note is attached to a workpaper that is checked in to the MCD. The staff member wrapping up the engagement can take these actions. To delete a note, right-click on the note and choose Delete Note.
