Use New Engagement - Properties page of the New Engagement wizard to specify the name, description, beginning and end dates, and other general information about the engagement.
Choose File > New > Engagement and select one of the following options: Create from a template or Create a blank Engagement. Click the Next button to proceed through the New Engagement wizard to open the Properties page.
Fields & buttons
Required field. Enter a name for the new engagement.
Note: This name displays next to the document icon in the Tree View window.
Optional field. Enter a description for the current engagement.
Select the date to be used in the current engagement for Excel workpapers, for reports, for financial statements, and so forth. The dates available in the drop-down list for this field are based on the number of periods and the current fiscal year end (or period end dates) as defined in the File > Client Properties dialog in CSA.
Defaults to 2 years. Select the number of years of balances to have available in the current engagement. This number cannot exceed the number of Years of balances to save on the General tab or the Trial Balance tab of the Client Properties dialog in CSA.
Enter a beginning date and an ending for the selected engagement, or click Browse button select the date from a calendar.
The checkboxes and date field in this section are used by the application to display reminders as the 45- or 60-day deadline approaches for documentation completion of an audit engagement and the engagement must be wrapped up.
- Audit engagement.
- Public entity.
- Report Release Date. Enter the date when permission was granted to the client to use the auditor's report in connection with the financial statements.
