Use the Firm tab of the Administration dialog to enter or modify a master password, to designate security settings, and (when appropriately licensed) to specify information for your firm's multiple offices.

Enter your password and click the Continue button to make the Security Settings options available. Click the Modify button to change the master password.

Note: A master password is required if you want to restrict access to client data or global setup information for your CSA programs. You can change the master password at any time from the Firm tab of the Setup > System Configuration > Administration dialog in CSA. For details, see Setting up a master password.

Special information

  • Retrieving updated license files via CS Connect
  • When setting up groups (comprised of one or more staff IDs), be sure to select the Staff-level security option to make the Groups and Staff tabs available on the Administration dialog so that you can customize user-specific privileges. See Setting up user-specific security access in CSA for details.

Note: The Security tab is unavailable when the Staff-level security option has been selected (or if the CSA installation includes the license for Engagement CS, which requires staff-level security settings).

  • To add or modify security privileges when not setting up groups, you may select either the Master password required to change security level only option or the Global and client-level security option. See Setting global security options for details.

Note: Only those employees who know the master password can select any of the security settings on the Firm tab and access the Security tab to restrict or enable access to specific areas of the program.

  • (When appropriately licensed for both the Terminal Server version and the Multi-Office capabilities) you will be able to set up staff and office information for each of your firm's offices. The Office tab will appear on the Administration dialog only if you have the appropriate licenses installed.
  • The Multi-Office functionality enables you to set up source and destination offices and to select configurable files for transfer by clicking the Transfer Configurable Files button.

Note: If you have the appropriate licenses installed and know the master password, you can transfer configurable files from one office (source) to another office (destination), otherwise the Transfer Configurable Files button remains grayed.
