Use the Local Tax Information dialog to set up withholding information for the localities relevant to any of your payroll clients. From time to time you may need to add or update data in the Local Tax Information dialog to include additional jurisdictions or to reflect changes in the tax laws.

Choose Setup > System Configuration > Payroll Tax Information > Local. In the Local Tax Information dialog, click the Add button to add information for a new locality, or choose an existing jurisdiction and then click the Edit button.

Using this dialog

Regardless of which client you may be currently working with, only the localities that you set up here will appear in listbox fields relevant to local withholding.

During payroll check entry, Payroll CS does the following:

    • If the period-end date is on or after this date, the application uses the tax values currently on file, including your most recent changes.
