The CSA main window is the primary "application workspace" for applications in the Creative Solutions Accounting platform. If you have not yet opened a client database, only a few of the commands will be available in the pull-down menus that are accessible from the menu bar at the top of this window. To see more options and to be able to process transactions for your client, you first need to open the client's database.

  • To add a new client, choose New Client from the File menu. Enter the appropriate information in the New Client dialog. When you've finished, click the Done button.
  • To open the database for an existing client, follow these steps:
    1. Choose Open Client from the File menu.
    2. The Open Client dialog displays the list of client databases that are stored in the folder specified in the Client Data Path in the File Locations tab of the Setup > User Preferences dialog. Open the desired client database by double-clicking its filename.
    3. If an access password has been set up for this client (in the Restrict Access tab of the Advanced Properties dialog), enter the client's password at the prompt and then click OK.
    4. Now that a client database is open, the client's ID appears in the title bar at the top of the CSA main window.
