Installation: Desktop setup

This article covers UltraTax CS, Fixed Assets CS, and Filecabinet CS. The desktop setup gives you a desktop icon and makes sure the components required to run the program are installed on the computer. 

Before you can run the desktop setup, you have to install the program. Once installed, to run the desktop setup:

  1. Close all open programs, including non-CS applications.
  2. Open the Windows Explorer and navigate to X:\WinCSI, where X is the install location of the application.
  3. Navigate to the appropriate folder:
    • UltraTax CS: X:\WinCSI\UTYY\Desktop, where YY is the year of UltraTax CS.
    • Fixed Assets CS: X:\WinCSI\DSW\Desktop.
    • FileCabinet CS: X:\WinCSI\CABINET\DESKTOP
  4. Right-click on the Setup.exe file and choose Run as administrator.
  5. Repeat the above steps at each workstation.
