Use the Archive Options dialog to create, to delete, restore, or repair an archive. Before you archive documents, enter a new volume label to specify whether FileCabinet CS will append the archive to an existing volume or begin a new volume.

This dialog also allows you to enter comments about the archive.

To open the Archive Options dialog, choose File > Archive.

Fields & buttons

What would you like to do?

Click this option to create an archive.

If you want to delete an archive volume, click this option and then click the Continue button to open the Delete Archive dialog.

Note: Deleting an archive volume deletes only its associated volume icons and archive history, not archived data. Archived data from a deleted volume remains in the archive location and can be restored later.

If you want to restore an archive volume, click this option and then click the Continue button to open the Restore Archive dialog.

If you want to repair an archive volume, click this option and then click the Continue button to open the Archive Repair dialog.

Create Archive

Click this option to add the new archive to an existing archive volume.

Note: This option is not available if there are no archives in the designated archive location. You can view the settings for the current archive location in the Archive tab of the System Configuration dialog.

This field shows the currently selected volume label or ID.

Click this button to open the Select Volume dialog.

Click this option to begin a new volume.

Enter a name for the volume in this field.

Use this field to add comments about the archive.
