When you assign a client password, you can control access to a specific client's data. If you assign a password to a client, you will need to enter the client's password whenever you select the client for processing.
- In the File > New Client or File > Client Properties dialog, click the Advanced Properties button.
- If your security configuration requires it, enter the master password in the Enter Master Password dialog and click OK.
- In the Restrict Access tab of the Advanced Properties dialog, mark the Deny access to client data unless password is known checkbox.
- Enter the password in the Client password field and enter it again in the Verify field. Note that client passwords cannot exceed eight characters.
- Click OK.
- Click OK again to close the New Client or Client Properties dialog.
Tips
- To remove the password for the open client, repeat steps 1 and 2 to return to the Restrict Access tab and clear the Deny access to client data unless password is known checkbox.
- To change the password for the open client, repeat steps 1 - 3 and enter the new password in step 4.
- If you forget a client's password, use the master password when opening the client data. Fixed Assets CS opens the Restrict Access tab and prompts you to enter a new password for the client data.
