By default, the first three active fields in the Association field order list in the Associations dialog appear at the top of the Asset Detail dialog in that order. Any other association fields you are using appear in the Associations group box in the Other tab.
To change the order and/or locations of the association fields, perform the following steps.
- Open the desired client.
- Choose Setup > Associations.
- The Association field order list displays the association fields in their current order. To move a field in the list, highlight the field name and click the Move Up or Move Down button.
- Repeat the previous step until the fields are listed in the desired order, and then click OK to return to the Asset List window.
Note: The options you select here apply to the open client only.
Tip for using the Oil & Gas association: To speed up data entry, move the Oil & Gas field to the top of the Asset Detail dialog. During data entry, this allows you to choose the well description from the Oil & Gas field, enter the cost/basis, and when you choose Units of Production from the drop-down list in the Method field, the application automatically enters the well's beginning reserves and current-year production amounts that are entered in the Oil & Gas dialog.
