Note: The Fixed Assets Inventory module is licensed separately from Fixed Assets CS.

Inventory reconciliation is the process of reconciling the physical inventory (assets physically accounted for during the inventory) with the list of assets in the Inventory module. By the end of the reconciliation process, all assets should have a status of Found - changed, Found - not changed, Disposed, Checked out, or New.

To change the inventory status for a collection of assets at once, perform the following steps.

  1. Open the active inventory.
  2. If necessary, select the active inventory in the Inventory dialog and click the Open button.
  3. Choose Tasks > Reconcile Assets.
  4. Select the assets you want to reconcile in the Assets available to reconcile pane on the left, then click the Select button to move the assets to the Assets to reconcile pane.

    Notes

    • You can use the fields in the Focus group box to limit the assets that are available in the Assets available to reconcile pane.
    • You can also select assets by scanning each asset's barcode label.
  5. In the Inv Status field, select the inventory status to which you will reconcile all of the assets that are listed in the Assets to reconcile pane.
  6. Click the Reconcile button.
  7. Fixed Assets CS asks if you want to reconcile additional assets. To reconcile additional assets, click Yes and repeat steps 4 - 6. If you are done, click No.

Internal only

Support: The separate license needed to access the Inventory Module is named DINVNAME.DAT.

  • You first need to verify if the firm is licensed for the Inventory module in Flash or EMS. If they are, have the user download their licenses. If the firm encounters issues downloading their licenses, you can download the firm's license, rename their DWNAME.DAT to DINVNAME.DAT, and then email the license file you created to the firm.

Never walk an external user through renaming their DWNAME.DAT license. This is to be completed internally only if a firm is having problems with downloading their licenses.

  • If the firm is not licensed for the Inventory module, you will need to submit an EMS Help Desk ticket so that the license can be made available to the firm through CS Connect. If the firm does not license the Inventory Module and is interested in doing so please transfer the user to Sales (x751363).
