To customize an existing asset label or set up a new label to include a barcode, perform the following steps.
- Open the desired client.
- Choose Utilities > Asset Labels.
- Double-click each asset for which you want to print a label to move it to the Assets to print pane.
- Click Continue.
- In the Print Asset Labels dialog, choose the label layout that you want to edit or base a new label on from the drop-down list in the Label layout group box.
- Click the Edit button.
- In the Edit label layout dialog, click the Edit button to edit the existing layout permanently or click the Add button to add a new layout based on the application-defined layout chosen.
- If you are adding a new layout, enter a unique name in the Layout name field.
- In the Available Fields list, make sure that the checkbox for the field that you want to print as a barcode is marked.
- With the field name highlighted in the Available fields list, choose one of three barcodes we supply from the Print field as field.
- Click the Enter button to save the changes to the Defined label layouts list.
- Click Done to close the Edit Label Layout dialog.
- In the Print Asset Labels dialog, click the Print button to print the asset labels.
The edited application-defined label or the new label is now available for all clients.
